Which, as per usual means we are far too weary and grubby (with black ink from 3 days worth of form guides smothered over face and body) to come up with anything new, so apologies once again for re hashing old stuff. You will see them returning triumphant, crawling out of nooks and crannies, frowning and blinking at the sunshine to reclaim their patch of turf from the black suited shaved head sun glassed brigade (which someone this week likened to a plague of aggressive stick insects). Actually, its amazing how young the crowd at Oaks Day has got - its like an under age night club these days (that might just be Grandpa Turf Deli having a whinge). Of course, there have been record crowds all this week. The breakdown of Cup figures has just come through : Crowd Breakdown : 2500 nuns (up 210 on last year) 534 gorillas (up 340 on last year) 1029 fairys, 23 guys in drag, 324 arabs, 25 Two Person Horse Costumes, 39 Bumble Bees.
