Ground Shaking Tips

The ground was shaking with an amazing tipping performance on Caulfield Guineas Day as we found great value bets at huge odds.

We found 3 winners on top, and 6 winners in the selections from 9 races

Race 2: 1-EARTHQUAKE 1st W=$2.00
Race 4: 7-RUBICK 1st W=$3.90 -- top pick
Race 5: 9-BIG MEMORY 1st W=$6.60 -- top pick
Race 7: 4-TRUST IN A GUST 1st W=$4.30
Race 8: 5-AMICUS 1st W=$11.00 -- top pick
Race 9: 7-GRIANTE 1st W=$8.80

But even better the Betting Portfolio had an absolute field day.

We doubled up to a $100 spend on a big day of betting, made a $116 profit and nearly all of our suggested bets were in the finish and giving your punting dollar a shake. Including 1st and 3rd in three different quinellas which was rather frustrating

Turf Deli punters got a huge buzz when the super long shot 14-DESERT JEUNEY at close to 100-1 pulled out and put himself into the finish in the Toorak Handicap, even looking like he was going to go close to winning at one stage.

BEST EACH WAY: Race 8: 5-AMICUS 1st W=$11.00
BEST EACH WAY: Race 5: 9-BIG MEMORY 1st W=$6.60
BEST ROUGH: Race 7: 14-DESERT JEUNEY 3rd W=$72.70, P=$14.60

The day ended on a flat note, with the post races concert by Irish pop rock band The Script unable to go ahead when their stage collapsed. Mainly because the boys had been following our tips and the stage couldn't handle the weight of all the extra cash in their pockets.

The Betting Portfolio has had an amazing spring campaign so far:

2014 Spring Campaign: 10 weeks - 6 profits - 3 returns - 1 wipe out. Net: +$266.75

See how the tips and Betting Portfolio are going at the Bottom Line. We are showing a profit on most bets types, including a 28% profit even on a simple win bet on the top selection in each race.

As a punter it always pays to read the Stewards reports for those vital bits of information about what happened in a horse's previous starts.

Who was slowly away, who was held up for runs, who pulled up lame and ..

Vital information, like who swallowed what sort of insects and how it affected their performance.

SUAVITO - Bay Mare, 4 years of age.

Last seen entering the starting gates at the Flemington 1400M on Turnbull Stakes Day.

Much loved by punters, until Saturday

If found, please contact Greg Miles, Flemington race caller, or all those punters who backed her.

If you are heading out to Caulfield this week check out our Caulfield Track Guide .

Handy hints with associated nonsense about where to meet, where to hang out and how to avoid the queues on course.

- don't get confused, the Thousand Guineas is now on the same day as the Caulfield Guineas, and the mid week meeting now features the Blue Sapphire Stakes sprint race. The mid week meeting is still a great way to enjoy Spring Carnival racing without the mad crowds.

No more chips and dim sims during feature meetings, head down to Eat Street for some real tasty food, in front of the Black Caviar Pavilion

- the once a year attendees queue for the portables, or crowd into the ground floor facilities of the main grandstand. Those with some inside knowledge walk out the back of the course and towards the stables, opposite the old betting ring where the old, red brick large toilet block is clean, sturdy, and has no frustrating lines - even for the girls.

Whilst the AFL roll out Tom Jones and MeatLoaf, again and again and again, Caulfield is hip to the sounds of the new generation. Though we aren't in the slightest. Who the heck are The Script? You can check them out regardless.
