Turf Deli Racing News

Premiership Winning Performance

We are going to skip our usual weekly racing news nonsense this week for some blatant self promotion.

Last Sunday at Caulfield, whilst everyone was nursing Grand Final celebration hang overs, or busy negotiating multi million dollar deals with cashed up interstate clubs, we put in a best on ground punting premiership performance.

So it is stacks on us for the premiership photo.

For the eight races, there was a rather nice 4 winners on top and an even nicer 6 winners in the selections. Which included lots of double figure winners.

Including two top picks winning at over $10 which were the trick legs in a $11,000 quaddie.

Race 1: 3-MAY'S DREAM 1st W=$2.40 -- top pick
Race 3: 14-PHANTOM BREW 1st W=$14.20
Race 4: 5-BASS STRAIT 1st W=$3.20 -- top pick
Race 5: 11-NOTICE RECEIVED 1st W=$15.30 -- top pick
Race 6: 4-IT IS WRITTEN 1st W=$6.50
Race 7: 6-ECLAIR BIG BANG 1st W=$13.00 -- top pick

Unfortunately, the one we didn't like got up and won the last race - but cynical punters could have seen that coming a mile off. We actually found the first five legs of the Big Six in the first two selections, and even without the last winner the supplementary prize for any runner in the last leg paid a very handy $10,000 or so. Very handy indeed.

For some reason we couldn't snare a quinella though, finishing 1st and 3rd on 4 separate occasions. Which means the poor old Betting Portfolio still somehow managed to make a loss but was very close to the money in quite a few bets.

Excuse the weekly newsletter gloat, but it is was a pretty impressive performance. And you thought premiership winning footy players were cocky. Go team.

Deposit $50, Bet With $200

To celebrate our effort, we have had a word to IASBET and for one week only they have been nice enough to increase their freebie offer for new accounts.

If you open a new account and deposit $50, you will automatically get credited with $150 worth of freebies.

This is a deposit offer too. Most corporate bookmakers these days only offer to match the value of your first bet placed.

If you are planning to bet $50 over the Spring Carnival, then make sure you get your money's worth by taking up these offers when they magically appear in your inbox.

You can bet with IASBET the same way you bet on the TAB, so you can take quinellas, trifectas and the ever desirable quadrellas and often you will get a dividend that is better than what your local TAB pays. Plus you can choose between tote odds or fixed odds and more often than not end up collecting even more when you back a winner.

Victorians - we don't want you to feel left out. Open an account and we will make sure you are taken care of.

With a small deposit, plus the tasty freebies you can play along with our weekly Betting Portfolio this spring and have a bit of fun on the punt this spring carnival.

If you already have an IASBET account you can still earn some freebies with the Refer A Friend bonus.

Forward this offer on and get your friends to quote your Refer A Friend number when they open their account. That's another $50 freebie per friend to add to the punting shopping basket.

One week only - offer closes when they jump in the Caulfield Guineas 12/102013

Way Past Our Bed Time

It was a double header last weekend and we actually chugged along pretty well at Moonee Valley Friday night too.

Or at least that is what we are told. With the feature race on at 10pm we were, of course, safely tucked into bed with our Melbourne Cup picture book and a cup of milo by the time they jumped in the last.

The track tended to favour on pacers, and it was noticeable that they even made a beeline to the rails in the AFL Mascots foot race.

We found one winner on top, and four winners in the selections, including three quinellas. But best of all we were spot on in our feature race preview, finding the winner 10-SAMAREADY 1st W=$6.80 on top, plus the quinella, plus knocking the chances of several favoured runners and accurately predicting how the race would be run.

The Betting Portfolio squeezed a small profit:

BEST WIN: Race 6: 2-DIVINE CALLING $5 WIN 1st W=$3.30
QUINELLA: Race 8: 1-BUFFERING, 10-SAMAREADY x $3 Quinella = $13.30

2013 Spring Campaign: 8 weeks - 2 profits - 4 returns - 2 wipe outs - Net: -$168.10

SPRING CARNIVAL SNAPSHOT

#5 - THE TRACK WALKER

If you cast your eye out onto the course in between races, you might just catch sight of the professionalism of some jockeys.

Carefully walking the track. Pounding the ground. Watching for wear and tear. Looking for the best going to ensure they give their mounts the very best chance in the next race.

Either that - or they lost their bloody car keys during the running of the previous.

JOCKEY BUSHRANGER CHALLENGE
____________________________________

QUESTION OF THE WEEK ?

Why is it that no jockeys have gone the urban hipster bushranger beard look like so many footy players have?

The impeccably maintained, wild bushranger beard would look great on a jockey astride a sturdy mount.

Accompanied by a steely look of determination in their eyes as they parade in the mounting yard, punters would know that this jockey means business - or that they are about to rob a stage coach on the way to the barriers.

Just seems a much more appropriate look for the racecourse, rather than galloping down the wing of the MCG.

PUT $200 ON THE NOSE AT ONE AT ODDS

Betfair First Bet Free

BETFAIR's current offer is a refund up to $200 on your first bet if it loses.

This is your big chance to pick a roughie at odds during Spring and try to land a bounty.

The strategy is pretty simple. Set up a new account. Then wait patiently.

Plonk $200 on the nose at one at odds when you spot a roughie you like.

If it wins - you are laughing.

If not - no drama, you get your money back and can start again and bet normally.

Always read the Terms and Conditions on these offers - to make sure you make the most of them. The offer is for new accounts and it needs to be a single bet up to $200 so you need to find a price where you can bet the $200 in one go, else use the Betfair Starting Price option.

Every week over spring we are going to pick out a horse at better than $10 to have a $200 no risk ping on.
