Turf Deli Racing News

Milking the Corporate Cash Cow

Punters have never had it so good over the last couple of years with the corporate book makers and BETFAIR now free to roam.

The competition is fierce, they are falling over each other with special offers, bonuses and freebies. Barely a week goes by when some new gimmicky offer doesn't assault us from the form guide.

All the punter has to do is stand back and pick them off, use them up and move onto the next one. Always read the Terms and Conditions carefully on these offers, cause that way you can make sure you milk 'em for all they are worth.

Deposit $50, bet with $200 offer - One Week Only

For one week only IASBET have been nice enough to increase their freebie offer.

Now if you deposit $50, you will automatically get credited with $150 worth of free bets.

The standard offer is only a $100 freebie. You can bet with IASBET the same way you bet on the TAB, so you can take quinellas, trifectas and the ever desirable quadrellas and often you will get a dividend that is better than what your local TAB pays. Plus you can choose between tote odds or fixed odds and more often than not end up collecting even more when you back a winner.

With a small deposit, plus the tasty freebies you can play along with our weekly Betting Portfolio this spring and have a bit of fun on the punt this spring carnival.

Always read the Terms and Conditions on these offers - to make sure you make the most of them.

If you already have an IASBET account you can still earn some freebies with the Refer A Friend bonus.

Forward this offer on and get your friends to quote your Refer A Friend number when they open their account. That's another $50 freebie per friend to add to the shopping basket.

One week only - offer closes when they jump in the Caulfield Cup Saturday 15/10/2011

Last Week's Results

Black Caviar Inc.

It was BLACK CAVIAR (TM) wavers, BLACK CAVIAR (TM) masks, BLACK CAVIAR everywhere you looked at Caulfield last week. BLACK CAVIAR is now a registered trade mark of the BLACK CAVIAR hyper mega global organisation. No seriously - the freebie handouts all now carry the trademark symbol. It was pretty surreal watching the crowd starting to applaud on the home turn in a 1000M race. Not as weird though as when the champion sprinter got up at the races after party and belted out a few numbers with Sneaky Sound System.

The tips went along OK, but it was mainly the obvious picks and still not much in the way of value winners or quinellas. From 9 races, there were 3 winners on top and 6 from 9 in the selections :

Race 1 : 1-ADAMANTIUM 1st W=$2.70
Race 2 : 3-PLATELET 1st W=$4.10 , Quin = $9.50
Race 3 : 14-SHEWAN 1st W=$3.80
Race 4 : 6-BLACK CAVIAR 1st W=$1.10
Race 7 : 2-HELMET 1st W=$2.10 , Quin = $5.10
Race 9 : 4-TESTA MY PATIENCE 1st W=$3.00

We doubled up in the Betting Portfolio with plenty to bet on. We got off to a flying start too getting most of the day's outlay back on the first bet of the day - and then floundered from then on in. And the top selection and value runner who was scratched in the last of course stepped out at Cranbourne on Sunday and won.

We are still in the black so far this season in the Betting Portfolio, but there is a slow, soggy, sinking feeling in our socks as the profit slowly diminishes. However, we have got a return back every week, so still no wipe outs 10 weeks into spring.

2011 Spring Campaign : 10 weeks - 4 profits - 6 returns - 0 wipe outs - Net : $+73

CAULFIELD TRACK GUIDE
______________________________________

If you are heading out to Caulfield this week check out our Caulfield Track Guide .

Handy hints with associated nonsense about where to meet, where to hang out and how to avoid the queues on course.

Note the following :

FOOD
- the on course food was pretty ordinary on Caulfield Guineas Day, but all the best food outlets are hidden out the back of the course. Walk out the back, past the TABARET and up the straight away from the winning post and to the other side of the bizarre Big Top / nightclub thing. Here there are some lovely, healthy and tasty food vendors who seriously got shafted on space allocation. No lines, and much better quality food.

TOILETS
- the once a year attendees queue for the portables, or crowd into the ground floor facilities of the main grandstand. Those with some inside knowledge walk out the back of the course and towards the stables, opposite the betting ring where the old, red brick large toilet block is clean, sturdy, and has no frustrating lines - even for the girls.

ADOPT A JOCKEY
___________________________________________

Come Spring time these cute little cuddly fellas are always so popular.

Everyone wants one or wants to look like one at the fancy dress Melbourne Cup BBQ.

Remember a jockey is not just for Spring Carnival.

At the end of every Cup Week unloved jockeys are often just left abandoned on the steps of the local TAB.

So think about adopting a jockey. They are available in a wide range of silks / colour schemes so they can make a great garden feature.

HAVE A PING THIS SPRING
_________________________________________
Betfair First Bet Free

BETFAIR's current offer is a refund up to $100 on your first bet if it loses.

Great if you are a small bettor and always dreamed of having a ping at one at odds over the spring.

You can sign up, have a ping, and if it wins - collect big, if not, back to the drawing board and just bet as normal. After the first bet, you can place your normal TAB bets through BETFAIR as well as they link in with the Tasmanian TAB.

Always read the Terms and Conditions on these offers - to make sure you make the most of them. Note that the offer is not valid for VIC and SA residents. The bet has to be a single bet of up to $100, so you can't split it across a horse at different odds. Our recommendation would be to use the BETFAIR Starting Price option.

Every week over spring we are going to pick out a horse at better than $10 to have a $100 no risk ping on.

This Week's Turf Deli Ping :

CAULFIELD RACE 5 : 7 - AMERICAN CREW
