Last Week's Results

Gunk

Last weeks tips were utter and total gunk. Not quite as bad as the fried gunk at the only food outlet on course at Caulfield (which you need to line up for 20 mins to purchase) - but gunk nonetheless.

You realise it could be a long, long spring when your first Lay of the Day is backed off the map - and leads all the way for a dominant victory. And your Best Roughie misses the start when the jockey is still adjusting his stirrup / updating his facebook status when they jump.

Those who went to Caulfield though, were treated to SEPOY dancing, trotting and prancing around the mounting yard like a prize boxer, before winning like a serious superstar - yet again.  There is a whisper around that he will be one of the contestants on the next season of Dancing With The Stars

Last week, it was mainly short priced favourites - so we managed to find three winners on top, but none of them were particularly flashy odds ($1.20, $2.50, $2.80).

The Betting Portfolio got back about half its outlay with the class horse in the main race starting at rather reasonable odds :

BEST BET : Race 6: 1-WHOBEGOTYOU $11 1st W=$2.50 = $27.50

The Horses to Follow got off to a good start with a nice priced place getter at Caulfield and a winner at Sandown on Sunday.

Spring Carnival Correction

One of our more eagle eyed readers pointed out that we made a mistake on the list of meetings for this spring from last week.  With the AFL Grand Final on a weekend later this year, the Manikato Stakes has moved to stay on Grand Final Eve, meaning it is on the same weekend as the Turnbull Stakes. That means the Underwood Stakes meeting at Caulfield which is normally on the week before has been split into two Saturday Caulfield meetings to fill the gap. Keeping up ?
