Turf Deli Racing News

End of Spring Campaign 2010

This is the last week of the Turf Deli Spring Campaign 2010.

We obviously have an awful lot of fun running the website, and it has been a pretty good year on the punt.

A big thank you to everyone out there who has passed on this email to friends or sent us encouraging words. Much appreciated.

We always welcome feedback about our crappy gags, tips and website, or debate about the form and we especially love hearing from people when they have had a collect.

You can contact us at info@turfdeli.com.au

One lucky punter has already been in touch to tell us how he snared the $13,000 Quaddie on Saturday with a bit of WELL ROUNDED assistance from Turf Deli.

We should be back next year, kicking off in August 2011 on Liston Stakes Day as we always do.

In the meantime, keep an eye on our Facebook page, we hope to keep posting the odd update there over the next year, and if we stumble across any more amazing long shot roughies we will let you know.

Happy Punting
Turf Deli

Stakes Day Gloat-A-Thon

We had a bumper Cup / Oaks / Stakes Day, finding an absolute stack of value winners.

Doubt you will find many tipsters or tipping services that went better during Cup week (especially those who ask you to pay for tips - as if !).

Stakes Day was the highlight though. Only the 1 winner on top, but 4 winners in the selections, including one at extremely nice odds indeed.

Race 3 : 1-PLAYWRIGHT 1st W=$6.00, QUIN =$6.00
Race 4 : 4-BIGELOW 1st W=$3.40, QUIN = $16.90
Race 5 : 6-BLACK CAVIAR 1st W=$1.80, QUIN = $4.40
Race 7 : 15-WELL ROUNDED 1st W=$38.30

What made that long shot winner so, so special was that it was our Best Rough of the Day in the Betting Portfolio. Plus we grabbed the quinella in the same race in our suggested bets.

BEST ROUGH : Race 7: 15-WELL ROUNDED $2.50 EW 1st W=$38.30, P=$9.10 = $118.50
Race 7 : QUINELLA: 1, 9,15,16,17 x 50 cents boxed = $5 QUIN = $78.55

We did the form, analysed the way the race would be run, and picked out our roughie on that basis. So not only did we find the value winner, but we pointed out why we liked it and successfully predicted how the race would be run and how she would get into the finish.

...Problem with this race is the (1) and the (2) who are the in form class mares have both drawn shocking barriers, so we are going around them. That means plenty of value about those well drawn that are going to race on pace. This one went well on Tuesday, is fitter for the 4 runs in will sit on speed from a good barrier and might stick on OK...

JERSEY LILY 1st W=$5.30
TAGUS 1st W=$11.90

THE BIG STEEL 1st W=$16.30
CURTANA 1st W=$3.50, QUIN = $23.60
KING COBWEB 1st W=$14.30
BRAZILIAN PULSE 1st W=$2.70
NIBLICK 1st W=$3.50, QUIN = $37.90

PLAYWRIGHT 1st W=$6.00, QUIN =$6.00
BIGELOW 1st W=$3.40, QUIN = $16.90
BLACK CAVIAR 1st W=$1.80, QUIN = $4.40
WELL ROUNDED 1st W=$38.30

Is Cup Week over already ? We were having so much fun.

The Betting Portfolio chalked up a rather tidy $159.55 profit last week.

We have had a bumper year with the suggested bets. We have been in the black all season and we are going into the last week with a very healthy overall profit of +$490.00

Betting Portfolio : 16 weeks : 9 profits, 4 returns, 3 wipe outs. Profit : +$490.00
